Welcome to Foreside Acres. We are Rick, Martha, Anthony, and Cecilia Mitchell. We are in the process of developing a sustainable family farm. This is a dream realized when we moved to Grinnell, Iowa in 2003.

Many of our friends in Dallas joked about us moving to the country and becoming a real-life version of “Green Acres”. Life on the farm has been very rewarding. We are blessed to have the opportunity to raise our kids here. Our farm is on the outskirts of Grinnell, so we take advantage of country living while enjoying the convenience of a small college town.

Our goal is to raise foods naturally and humanely. Our vegetables, fruits and herbs are grown using natural recycled matter. Our chickens, turkeys, ducks and geese are raised on pasture and are free to scratch and catch bugs. Our sheep are friendly and well cared for. We believe that healthy happy animals can only benefit us.

We hope to do our part in bringing back the days where neighboring farmers produce our foods. Foreside Acres has fresh eggs, fruits, meats, and vegetables to offer our neighbors.
