Shearing and lambing took place much closer this together this year. It is better to shear them a month prior to lambing, but it was so cold. After last year’s freeze after shearing, we didn’t want to take that chance this year. It didn’t seem to stress the ewes too much. Please contact us if you are interested in any lambs. Most are for meat, but some would be great for breeding.
March 27, 2009 – We watched Crystal deliver a white ram and ewe at about 8:30PM (several hours after shearing). Finally a ewe! This is her first ewe and we plan to keep her. Cowlyn is the sire.
March 28, 2009 Found Angel with two white ewes. We believe they were born around 3:30AM since they were still wet when I checked up on them at 4AM. Clayton sired.
March 29, 2009 Watched Sophia deliver a large white ram followed by a large white ewe at 11:25PM. Clayton sired.
March 30, 2009 Found Sybil with two white ewes born around 5AM. Sybil has a tremendous amount of milk, but for some reason one of her ewes won’t eat from her. I am bottle feeding her now. I call her my skinny buddy. Clayton sired.
March 30, 2009 Assisted Tilly in a long delivery starting around 8:40PM to deliver two brown rams. Our vet mixed up a B12 and labor inducer earlier that day to give to Tilly. She wasn’t herself for a couple of days and the vet thinks it is pregnancy toxemia. This is probably the case because she was carrying two rams. She is a very petite girl and usually gives us single. This should be the last year we breed her. She is a wonderful pet. The small rams are light, but are full of character. Clifford sired.
March 30, 2009 Watched Summer deliver a white ram and ewe at 11:35PM. Clayton sired.
March 31, 2009 Found Truffles with a white ram and a black spotted white ewe. The spotted ewe is adorable and something we wanted to see in your flock. It gives our flock more color.
April 2, 2009 Found Rosemary around 8:45PM with a white ewe and watched her deliver a black ewe. Her first colored lamb sired by Cowlyn.
April 7, 2009 Found Gretchen with two white rams. Sired by Clayton.
April 9, 2009 Found Tess with one white ewe and watched her deliver a white ram at 11:30AM. Sired by Cowlyn.
April 10, 2009 Watched Milly deliver two white ewes. One of the ewes has brown spots. Those spots will disappear after a while. Sired by Cowlyn.
April 13, 2009 Assisted Claire with a large white ewe and white ram at 1:30PM. Sired by Clayton.
April 13, 2009 Assisted Ede with her first white ewe and watched deliver a white ram at 1:40PM. Sired by Clayton.
April 13, 2009 Assisted Elly with two white ewes at 2:20PM. The first ewe came out very weak. We did what we could, but she died. Her second ewe was healthy and surived. Sired by Clayton.
April 19, 2009 Found Geni with a black mouflan ram this morning. He was born around 5am. Sired by Clayton.
